A Little Can Go A Long Way
The Schneider family works hard. They’ve dedicated their lives to farming respectfully, thoughtfully, and sustainably. Most of the family members spend most of their time raising a herd of grass-fed, hand milked Jersey cows. Their free-range cattle are even allowed to raise their own young, a practice virtually unheard of in the dairy industry. For the Schneiders, farming is not merely an occupation, but rather a love and a calling.
Until recently, the family of six resided in an old Amish house that they had trucked onto their land. However, after a short three years of turning the place into a home, the county zoning officer paid them a visit with some bad news; the building was located in a flood plain and they would have to move it.
Faced with a small number of options, each more expensive than the last, and a rapidly dwindling time frame, they were forced to give away their house to avoid legal action. As they watched their home hauled away, they packed their belongings into some boxes and a wooden shed and moved the family into a 1974 pull-behind trailer. Less than three weeks later the flooding began.
Tom Brady throws in with UGG Australia

Big Things
Tom Brady and UGG Australia have come together in an exciting collaborative partnership. The prolific quarterback, who was introduced to the ubiquitous shearling boots by his sisters, will spearhead the company’s first ever men’s marketing initiative beginning with the fall 2011 collection. Hesitant to enter into traditional endorsements, he’ll also be consulting with UGG Australia designers on future products and styles as a partner.
As much a fashion icon as an athletic one, “Brady is the ideal UGG® Australia endorser,” said Deckers Outdoor Corporation Chairman and CEO Angel Martinez. “He embodies the stylish casual attitude that is at the foundation of every product we make.”
The campaign, titled “The Man Under the Helmet,” will have Brady modeling the company’s popular sheepskin footwear, as well as certain pieces of outerwear and accessories. In their first commercial, viewers watch the quarterback play fetch with his dog, Lua, while wearing the new Rockwell boot.
The commercial was shot using a special SnorriCam, giving viewers an intimate POV perspective of the action, and features a gritty backing track from Mos Def. The campaign, which is the first to promote Men’s UGG Australia products, is set to launch globally in September. Continue reading
